First and Forever. Founded by a group of Shreveport's leading citizens in 1906, the State Fair of Louisiana is celebrating its 103rd year. The founders' primary interests were to provide an institution to assist in developing the agricultural and industrial resources of the area and for the betterment of the citizens. The State Fair, though located in Shreveport and the official State Fair for the State of Louisiana, has no formal ties to either the City or State. It is a private, not-for-profit membership organization with members representing a broad cross-section of Louisiana citizens who have exhibited interest in the goals and objectives of the Fair. The Fair is governed by a Board of Directors elected from the membership. The State Fair, situated on app. 157 acres, is located just off Interstate 20, with access from Jewella and Hearne Aves, located about 3 mi. west of downtown Shreveport.

Fair Hours: Oct. 22, 25, 28, 29 and Nov. 1, 4, 5, 8, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Oct. 23, 24, 30, 31 and Nov. 6, 7, 10 a.m.-11 p.m., Oct. 26-27 and Nov. 2-3, Closed.
Admission: $8 gate admission. $28.00 Pay-One-Price, includes Gate Admission and Ride Armband; FunPass, $75.00-Gate admission and armband for each of the 14 days the State Fair is open.
Parking Prices: $5 on State Fairgrounds property.
